What is a Muddy?

A Muddy is a friend you have both approved on Mad Buddy. Muddy proximity is mutual and follows each person's visibility settings.

Can other people see my exact location?

No. Mad Buddy may show a broad proximity band and explain its category range, such as Just Around · 0–100 m. That is not your precise measured distance or position. Your GPS coordinates, street address, live map position, and location history are not shown through the ordinary proximity experience.

How is Linkr different from Muddy proximity?

Muddy proximity is for approved friends. Linkr is discovery you deliberately switch on when you want to meet someone new. While Linkr is enabled, eligible people who are not yet Muddies may receive a privacy-safe approximate proximity signal as part of discovery.

Do both people have to approve before becoming Muddies?

Yes. A friendship becomes a Muddy connection only after mutual approval. Linkr discovery does not make someone a Muddy automatically.

Can I stop appearing nearby?

Yes. You can change your visibility controls, use Ghost Mode, and stop a Linkr session when you no longer want discovery active.

Does Mad Buddy show a live map?

No. The proximity experience uses broad bands or coarsely rounded estimates. It does not show a live map, map pin, direction of travel, or precise position.

What are Meetups?

Meetups turn a social intention into a real arrangement. Invite Muddies directly or use Meet New People, agree a time and place, then stay coordinated without exposing exact live location.

Can I block or report someone?

Yes. Mad Buddy includes blocking and reporting controls. Blocking is intended to remove the connection and interaction paths between the people involved.

Can I delete my account data?

Mad Buddy provides account deletion from Settings. The Privacy Policy explains the current deletion and limited-retention rules in more detail.

Is Mad Buddy free?

Mad Buddy Core is free. Mad Buddy Access is an optional ad-free subscription; core features such as Muddies, Linkr, Meetups, Messages and Events remain available without it. Current prices are shown on Pricing.
